Katinka Vendler-Simon

Founder, Food Biotechnology Engineer, Medicinal Plant Engineer

Kata graduated as a food biotechnology engineer from Corvinus University in 2009, and later successfully completed the postgraduate course in medicinal plant expertise and utilization at the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences. In addition to her food science studies, she earned a tax advisor qualification in 2022 and has been pursuing her master’s degree in economics since 2023. Coming from a family that has operated a food industry business for over 40 years, Kata has been connected to the field from an early age. Her personal health challenges, such as joint issues and eczema, motivated her to deeply study medicinal plants and create her own plant-based remedies. Kata’s professional expertise, personal experiences, and dedication provide a unique foundation for the development of Lost Garden products and the support we offer to those who turn to us.

Balázs Vendler

Founder, Business Strategist

Balázs earned a secondary school biology teacher degree from the University of Pécs in 2000, followed by a space policy advisor degree from the National University of Public Service in 2024. An entrepreneur since 1998, he founded a marketing agency that continues to operate today. In 2016, he established Games for Business Kft., which became a successful international player in the edtech market within just four years. His company was acquired by an international investor in 2019. Since then, Balázs has embraced the philosophy of slow business, mentoring companies with a focus on mindfulness and being present in decision-making. As a co-founder, he is involved in several ventures and, within the Lost Garden team, he contributes to business strategy and communication.

Challenges of Life After 40

As we reach our forties, it becomes increasingly important to find inner peace and be more consciously present in our lives. In this stage of life, we often encounter new challenges, many of which stem from physiological changes, such as declining hormone levels or a slowing metabolism. Joint degeneration, cardiovascular diseases, and psychological challenges like anxiety and depression become more common. These changes are partly linked to natural aging processes, which influence both our physical and mental well-being.

This approach is not only more sustainable but also allows us to employ more people, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds. While this method does come with limitations in terms of quantity—since handcrafted products cannot be produced on a large scale like machine-made ones—it ensures that every product is unique, high-quality, and entirely free from additives.
